This role will play a critical part in impacting Groundswell’s own internal processes and advising external clients to maximize their use of data. For internal processes, you will help shape the trajectory of the use of data, governance and best practices. For external clients and partners, you will focus on providing professional engagements and high-level solutions to help them leverage their data to develop business and marketing insights.

Responsibilities

  • Client project example: Work closely with business stakeholders to lead end-to-end data analytics to define measures and metrics: 
  • Work in collaboration with cross platform technical teams to implement data capture tools and approaches including Google Analytics/GTM, other 3rd party tools, activity capture from Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and mining of log files to extra user behaviour across Salesforce Community Cloud
  • Lead the modelling and collation of data into a single, business-friendly data repository that can allow for ad-hocs and pre-prepared analysis
  • Propose and refine dashboards/reports with business stakeholders to realize insights that were not available before, and validate the accuracy of such data
  • Strategize on a wider data strategy including retention, archival, compliance, performance and other considerations, and speak to various technical and business stakeholders in establishing the necessary governance structures and technical tools
  • Travel onsite to clients for kick-offs, milestone check-ins and demos. Less than 50% travel
 
  • Company Strategic data analytics from existing data sources 
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting and dashboarding requirements, define and map data sources to key metrics and prepare supporting documentation
  • Implement integrations and data loading tools to ingest and transform data from Salesforce and non-Salesforce platforms into Einstein Analytics
  • Implement Einstein Analytics dashboards that visualize data, tailored to varying form factors and use cases, and supporting customization or action-ability where possible
 
  • Become a Data expert on a wider project
  • As part of a wider project implementation, being the data expert to help define the data model, understand and document data points that originate from source systems and how they map to the future state, forming a scalable and sustainable data dictionary
  • Work with customers to establish data governance and strategy including defining systems-of-record, archival, backup and retention strategies
  • Support functional and technical teams with data migration cleansing and integration activities (lesser extent)

Required Skills / Experience

  • BA/BSc degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is required
  • Excellent track record exemplifying ability to quickly understand business problems, developing solutions and insights, and communicating them by leveraging data and analytics
  • ​Build entire roadmap of gathering, proposing, current data-sets, developing mock-ups to help client visualize solutions to showcase how to leverage data for impact
  • Demonstrated experience with applying analytics or working with data in any industry, consulting/tech experience ideal
  • Excellent client-facing and consulting experience
  • Has experience with Salesforce Einstein Analytics, Einstein Discovery, Tableau or equivalent, and digital analytics platforms e.g. Google Analytics
  • Demonstrate a breadth of understanding for established and emerging data technologies. Experience with tools such as columnar and NoSQL databases, predictive analytics, data visualization, very large datasets, and unstructured data is an asset.
  • The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate their understanding of software development life cycles and the role of data architecture within them. They must also understand and work with requirements, design, and test techniques.
